Two days ago, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya discussed the numerous fight possibilities involving Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on HBO. De La Hoya said Canelo's decision to move back to the network has opened the door to future fights against Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and his Mexican rival, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Canelo and Chavez Jr. are two weight divisions apart. Previously De La Hoya mentioned a weight limit of 159-pounds, but now he's gone up a few pounds. Chavez, currently having issues with his promoter Top Rank, fights at 168-pounds but claims he's capable of dropping down for the right fight.

"Canelo wants to face the best. All three are great possibilities - Cotto, Pacquiao and Chavez Jr. But I think a fight with Julio Cesar is very probable right now at 160 or 162 pounds. I have heard that he's willing to get down there, [and if that's the case] then there is a way to make it," said De La Hoya.

Chavez is open to the idea of 162-pounds, but he wants to see if De La Hoya is actually serious about his statements.

"The fight with Canelo has been discussed for a long time, and he has been fighting at [junior middleweight], but I went up to super middleweight so a catch-weight is doable. Let's see if the interest is real, as I said, I'm still waiting to get offered a good fight," Chavez said.
