Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is in good spirits after Thursday's hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Chavez was hit with a nine month suspension, and a fine of $900,000, for a failed drug test which came up positive for marijuana. Chavez failed the test following last September's twelve round decision loss to Sergio Martinez. The suspension, which runs from the date of the Martinez fight, expires on June 15th.

Chavez wants to win in June and then plans to pursue a rematch with Sergio Martinez, who faces Martin Murray on April 27th.

"The truth is I'm happy, just because I can fight from June 15th on. [They hit me for] a lot [of money], but you have to pay. I happy to be back in June. I'll likely fight on June 15th, maybe [Matthew] Macklin or [Brian] Vera, that's all I know so far. It will either take place in Mexico City or another city in the United States [not Las Vegas]," Chavez Jr. said. "If "Maravilla" wins in April and I win in June - I want a rematch in November. I hope that he will not be afraid. He was afraid after the last round."
