Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - In a battle for the vacant IBF heavyweight title, #1 ranked Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov (21-1-1, 13 KOs) suffered his first loss as he was dropped and unable to continue in the third, with #3 ranked Charles Martin (23-0-1, 21 KOs) becoming a new world champion.

They two fighters started out at a very slow pace. They were picking their spots and looking for counters. Martin was a little more aggressive and landing the better punches in the early rounds. Martin was imposing his will in the third round, pushing Glazkov back. He dropped Glazkov down in the third. The Olympian was limping when he got up and told the referee he was unable to continue as his right knee suffered an injury from the knockdown.

Several replays showed Glazkov positioning his legs in odd manner and going down in pain. The ringside doctor felt Glazkov tore his right ACL.

The belt became vacant after Tyson Fury refused to make a mandatory defense against Glazkov - due to Fury's contractual obligation to go forward with an immediate rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, who was outpointed last November by the British fighter.
