In a major Dallas/Ft. Worth boxing development, a deal has been finalized for Charles "The Future" Hatley to face veteran trial horse Emanuel Augustus on Saturday, September 25.

The scheduled eight-round welterweight fight will headline the third annual "Fight Night" from QuikTrip Park, home of the Grand Prairie Airhogs minor league baseball team.

Hatley (13-0, 11 KO) has spent most of 2010 progressively increasing his level of opposition.

The tough Marcus Brashears was followed by credible – and normally durable - foes, Marcos Primera and Dewey Welliver.

Hatley is now ready to test himself against Augustus, a world class fistic veteran.

Augustus has perhaps the most deceiving record (38-32-6, 20 KO) in boxing history and has carved his own niche with skill, showmanship, a genuine willingness to fight anybody, anywhere, anytime and a fan-friendly style.

Without question, Augustus is one of the sport’s most respected, beloved and appreciated fighters of the last 10-15 years.  He's appeared on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights" nearly 20 times in addition to a 2000 appearance on HBO against Floyd Mayweather, in a bout that Mayweather (then simply known as “Pretty Boy”) still regards as one of his toughest ever.

This is a mouth watering main event that Metroplex fans will be talking about for years to come.

Also on the card, local amateur standout Ray Ximenez, Jr. will be making his professional debut against the rugged Cristoval Larrazolo (1-2), and Greg "The Technician" Hatley, Jr. (1-1, 1 KO) will appear in a four-rounder, with an opponent on the verge of being secured as this goes to print.
