The outcome was the same - except it ended even sooner than their first meeting.

Welterweight world champion Cecilia Braekhus (32-0, 9 KOs) stopped Mikaela Lauren (29-5, 13 KOs) in the sixth round to retain her WBA, IBO, WBC, IBF and WBO belts on Saturday night at the Oslofjord Convention Center in Stokke, Norway.

The fight was televised on PPV in Sweden and Norway through Viaplay Fighting.

Braekhus stopped Lauren in seven back in 2010 in what was then a gross mismatch. Lauren has since improved a great deal but she still entered the ring as a big underdog against the outstanding Norwegian boxing queen.

There was very little difference in the second fight, with Braekhus dominating the action, landing the better punches and showcasing the overall better ability as a boxer.

"This is my 32nd fight and everything should have been straightforward, but Mikaela has spent so much time firing me up and actually doing it. Now, however, she also understands that she has done it in a way that does not affect me in the ring," Braekhus said.

Braehus was back in action after outpointing Erica Anabella Farias in front of her home fans in Bergen, and 'The First Lady' continues to extend her eight-year world championship reign.

‘’Mikaela has done a lot of talking since our first fight,’’ said Baekhus. " I promised a knockout in this fight and I delivered."

Lauren did everything possible to disrupt Braekhus in the pre-fight media events- between trash talking and physical antics. At Monday's final press conference, she actually kissed Braekhus on the lips during their face-off. The maneuver created worldwide headlines as the video went viral on the internet. Braekhus was shocked when it happened and slapped Lauren on the face before pulling away with a look of disgust.
