Top amateur Cayden Griffiths will make his professional debut on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The six-round super lightweight bout is promoted by Top Rank and will be streamed on ESPN+.

“I’m very excited to be making my professional debut,” said the 17-year-old Griffiths who is trained by Joel Diaz and Antonio Diaz in Indio, CA and managed by Vadim Kornilov and Alik Frolov.  “I’ve been working very hard leading up to this, sparring with some of the best fighters in the world.”

Among the recent sparring partners Griffiths has worked with include notable names; former world champion Murodjon ‘MJ’ Akhmadaliev, Brandon Figueroa, Batyr Akhmedov, Brandun Lee, Tito Acosta, Elnur Abduraimov, Hasanboy Dusmatov and Jesus Martinez.

Said Vadim Kornilov, “Cayden has all the attributes to become a superstar. He’s very talented in the ring and highly marketable outside. Watching him spar on a weekly basis with some of boxing’s best I’m confident he’s ready to succeed as a professional.”

Among the accolades Griffiths received as an amateur include; Gold Medalist / Junior Olympics National Championship, Five-Time California State Champion, Two-Time National Qualifier Champion, National PAL Champion, National Silver Gloves Champion, Junior Golden Gloves Champion and Two-Time Junior Olympic Silver Medalist.

The September 15 Top Rank event is headlined by the IBF featherweight world title fight between Luis Alberto Lopez and Joet Gonzalez.
