Pátzcuaro, Michoacán.- Under various hygiene and safety measures, boxing returned to Mexico and the event was headlined by former IBF junior middleweight world champion Carlos “King” Molina, who defeated Michi Munoz by technical knockout in the sixth round.

Almost three months after the last evening of boxing in the country, the punches were being thrown in a Mexican ring under the promotion of "King Carlos Promotions" and the card was broadcast on Facebook at a cost of five dollars.

The measures to fight against the COVID-19 virus were evident, since there were few people in the venue, the bare minimum, in addition to the fact that the fighters were tested, there was temperature control and the location was disinfected.

In the main event of the evening, Molina was far better than Munoz and proved it from the start with solid combinations and precise two-handed shots against an opponent who endured punishment and offered little resistance.

The hooks to the liver that Molina connected with in the fourth round hurt Munoz, who came out determined in the fifth round, but fatigue was another opponent that helped finish him, in addition to the hard impacts and superiority of the betting favorite.

With this win at super welterweight, Molina improved to 32-11-2, with 11 before the limit, while Munoz dropped down to a near 50-50 record of 23-22-1, 17 knockouts.

Another bout, after cleaning and disinfecting the ring and ropes, saw Alejandro “Pájaro” Dávila (20-1-2, 7 KOs) knock out Néstor Fernando García in the ninth round (23-21-1, 17 KOs) with a deadly right hand, in the super welterweight division.

In the lightweight division, Jair Valtierra extended his undefeated streak to 12-0, five by knockout, when he won a divided decision over Aurelio Hernández after eight rounds, with cards of 78-76, 77-75 and 77-75.

Finally, Juan Sergio Torres defeated Luis Acuña by unanimous decision, in a bout agreed upon in the super middleweight division.
