In a battle in which the two fighters never stopped throwing blows,  Jalisco's Carlos "Chuko" Díaz won by unanimous decision over Tijuana native Jesús Antonio "Ricky" Pérez, in the main event fight of the evening of the "Tirazos en Cancún" in the Oasis Arena Cancún in a co-promotion of Zanfer together with "Cancun Boxing" and "Boxing Time Promotions" and televised by Azteca 7.

Judges Gamaliel Azcorra and Mario Medina scored similar cards of 97-91, while Euberto Diaz also saw the Diaz win, but by 96-92.

In the first round, "Chuko" surprised "Ricky" with a left hand when they exchange strong punches at the short distance.

At the start of the second round, referee Florentino López removed a point from "Chuko" for pushing Perez at the end of the initial round. The second closed with frantic attacks from both sides, and that happened throughout the entire 10 rounds of this contest.

With this result, "Chuko" left the arena with his record raised to 27 wins, one setback and 13 wins before the limit.

"We are back with greater maturity in all aspects, 2019 will be a great year, my goal is to fight for a world title and I want a rematch with 'Chon' Zepeda," expressed Diaz after his great victory.

Also on thecard, Guadalupe "Lupita" Martinez offered won a unanimous decision over challenger Yulihan "Cobrita" Luna, in a competitive fight.

Judges Jesus Torres Arias, Javier Camacho Treviño and Eliseo Gonzalez Gonzalez agreed on the same score: 97-92 for Martinez, who retains her World Boxing Council title.

"Lupita" successfully made the third defense of the title that she snatched in May of last year from Zulina "Loba" Muñoz. She retained the belt against Carlota "Liebre" Santos and Irma "Torbellino" Garcia.
