There was plenty of controversy in the main event of Saturday's card, that was staged by Zanfer Promotions at the Grand Hotel Tijuana.

Carlos “Chuko” Diaz (29-1-0, 14 KO’s) and Elvis “Rockanrolero” Torres (19-1-2, 11 KO’s) were on display in an interesting, intense fight, with both using distance boxing and trading punches.

In the first round, Torres came out to attack decisively, with power shots and with a lot of determination. He pushed forward and had Diaz in trouble, but when he was looking to finish him off, Diaz landed two power shots that knocked down the Tijuana native.

They both went forward, exchanging big punches and it was Torres who was getting the better of the trades and doing more damage.

In the second round, both decided to change the strategy, because they staggered in the prior round. Elvis boxed very sharp, varying his combinations, seeking to get closer, and Diaz unleashed power punches, attacked with long punches but counterattacked with short impacts.

In the seventh round, the fight increased in intensity, and as Torres entered inside, Diaz tried to find a better position and released a quick combination - with a punch accidently landing to the back of the neck of Torres.

Torres complained of severe pain after getting hit with the punch. He said he felt dizzy and crouched down on the mat. Torres held the back of his neck, closed his eyes, and in the end he could not continue the fight and medical personnel came in to provide assistance

The Tijuana Boxing Commission determined that the fight would end with no official result, deeming it a No Contest at 1:37 of the seventh round.
