At the Centenario Theater in Coyoacan, Mexico City, a battle of former champions saw Venezuelan Carlos "CCC" Canizales blasted out Ganigan "Maravilla" Lopez by way of effective knockout at 1:45 of the fourth round after connecting him with a right hand hook to the point of the chin.

Although Lopez tried to stand up, he could not do it, because his legs did not respond to him, making the end of the fight even more dramatic.

With the win, Canizales captures the vacant World Boxing Association Continental Americas flyweight title.

Ganigan's style save seemed to complicate things in the first for Canizales, who had to wait until the second round to be able to hit the Mexican veteran hard for the first time, and from there, began the path to victory, by releasing power shots with more accuracy.

Canizales wins his second fight in a row since suffering a upset stoppage loss to Esteban Bermudez back in May of 2021.

For his past, Lopez was coming off a disqualification win over Jose Soto from October of last year.

Also on the card, Argentina's Jazmin "La Jefa" Villarino defeated Mexico's Judith "Gatita" Vivanco by unanimous decision with scores of 98-92, 98-93 and 98-92.

With the win, Villarino retained the WBA 'gold' minimumweight title for the first time. She captured the title last November with a seven round stoppage of Yenifer Leon.
