Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch believes heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller should be banned from boxing for his latest drug testing saga.

It was recently revealed that Miller tested positive for a performance enhancing drug. It forced his removal from a planned ESPN televised main event against Jerry Forrest.

The latest infraction is the third for Miller's career.

He was suspended for nine months after testing positive for a banned substance in 2014 in connection with a kickboxing match.

And then in 2019, Miller tested positive for three performance enhancing drugs - which led to his immediate removal from a planned title fight with unified world champion Anthony Joshua.

“In the case of Jarrell Miller, I think it was a blatant performance enhancing drug and there was no way of contamination because you can get contaminated products and you can take a nasal spray, asthma pump or an inhaler and you can take something for an illness or to manage symptoms of a regular cold, flu or whatever you may have," Miller told Talk Sport.

“That can show up in a drug test. What the drug testing officials need to say conclusively, there are no grey areas, it’s black and white, yes or no. You failed a drug test. You are cheating. You have one strike and you have six months or a year ban. You have a hefty fine and not just a slap on the wrist but if it happens again, in the case of Jarrell Miller, that’s it. Banned. Chuck the book at him. You can’t fight any more.

“They say in a 100m sprint you are going to take half a second off your time or a game of football where you might score a few more goals. This is boxing and people’s lives are at risk. If people are drugs cheating they need to be banned. If you start banning people for drugs cheating, the other cheats who are thinking about doing it will probably think twice about it.”
