Belfast’s Carl Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs) insists that there will be no early errors when he meets Australia’s Luke Jackson (16-0, 7 early) in a defence of the interim WBO World featherweight title at Windsor Park in Belfast this Saturday night despite a healthy dose of pre-fight needle between the two.

“The Jackal” was floored twice in the early going against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. in 2016 before registering a decision win and he said that this experience coupled with his determination to knock the vocal visitor out will ensure that he does not put a step wrong as he seeks to force a third fight against Leo Santa Cruz.

The 31-year-old also maintains that he will be buoyed by the cheers of 25,000 of his loyal supporters when he finally achieves a long-time dream of fighting in his home city’s football venue.

“I believe I'm one of the best supported fighters on the planet and that's down to the passionate Northern Ireland sports fans," he when speaking to Steve Wellings of the Belfast Telegraph.

“I'm certainly not taking Luke Jackson for granted in the slightest.  I've done that before against Alejandro Gonzalez and I ended up on my backside twice in the first round.  I've learned from that fight.”

More lucrative fight nights await Frampton if he gets past his Antipodean challenger, with talk of a showdown against IBF holder Josh Warrington and other marquee fights in the division.  Frampton, though, knows that he needs to build on the form he showed against Nonito Donaire in April (W12) and he has repeatedly stated that he feels better than ever before under new coach Jamie Moore as he heads into a decisive stage of his career.
