Cancun, Mexico - The main event was a toe to toe battle with Pablo Cesar Cano (25-1-1, 19KOs) defeating previously undefeated Johan Perez (15-1-1, 12KOs) to win the interim-WBA super lightweight title by majority decision with scores of 68-65, 68-65 and 67-67. The fight was stopped early due to a cut over the right eye of Pablo Cesar Cano.

In the first round, Cano was cut and Perez was bleeding from the nose. They traded bombs in the middle of the ring going back and forth. Cano landing lead right hands and Perez come back with left hooks to the head of the Mexican fighter.

In round seven, in the heat of the battle, Cano and Perez clashed heads and Pablo suffered a huge cut over his right eye, prompting the referee, by the recommendation of the doctor, to stop the fight.

"It is a dream come true, this is what I always wanted. I can't believe it..I am a world champion now," said the new champion Cano.

The fight was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing.
