Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's manager and co-trainer, Chepo Reynoso, was not impressed with WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-2-2, 12 KOs). Canelo (44-1-1, 31 KOs) won a close twelve round split decision victory over Lara at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The scores were 115-113 Canelo, 115-113 Lara and 117-111 Canelo.

Chepo was very unhappy with Lara's tactics in the fight. He said the Cuban boxer did nothing but run in fight and wouldn't stay in one place to trade punches.

"We came to fight, he didn't come to fight. I didn't think it was really a tough fight. It was only difficult because he didn't want to fight. He ran and if this is the Cuban school, then it is a very limited school," Reynoso said to Fox Deportes Radio.
