Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) is hoping to eventually get a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr., who holds the WBA/WBA world titles at welterweight and junior middleweight.

They fought in September of 2013, with Mayweather (47-0, 26KOs) dominating the action to win a twelve round majority decision.

Canelo says he was drained for the fight after accepting Mayweather's condition of a 152-pound catch-weight. Since that bout, Canelo has fought at 155-pounds, which is one pound above the full junior middleweight limit.

Mayweather is back on May 2nd against Manny Pacquiao and Canelo returns one week later against James Kirkland.

"I hope that God puts me back on the path to Floyd. The weight affected me very much [in the first fight]. That fight taught me many thing. I gained experience and learned a lot. I always try to look at the bright side of things and I'm never going to fight again in another weight division other than mine," Canelo told ESPN Deportes.
