T-Mobile Arena,Las Vegas - In a battle of unbeaten junior featherweights, Diego De La Hoya stopped Rocco Santomauro in the seventh round. De La Hoya (15-0, 9 KOs) dropped Santomauro near the end of the second round with a straight counter right hand to the head. As the bout progressed, Santomauro (13-1, 1 KO) tried to hang in the pocket with De La Hoya, but his punches had little impact and took numerous hard hooks to the head, especially in the fourth and fifth rounds. De La Hoya was deducted a point for a low blow in round seven, but ended matters when he hurt Santomauro with a right uppercut, prompting referee Jay Nady to stop the bout at 1:59.

In his first major step as a pro, unbeaten middleweight Jason Quigley defeated former fringe contender James De La Rosa over 10 rounds. Quigley (11-0, 9 KOs) began asserting himself in the early rounds, initiating exchanges and beating De La Rosa to the punch, mostly with head shots. De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KOs) began to slow down as the fight entered into later stages.

Quigley stunned De La Rosa midway through the ninth round, and likely could have put De La Rosa down had he mixed in punches to the body. Quigley was effective when he mixed his attack, especially in the final round. All three judges scored the bout 100-90 in favor of Quigley.

The only blemish in his performance Saturday was when he was deducted a point from referee Vic Drakulich in round six for landing a low blow. All three judges scored the bout 79-72 in favor of Roach.

Junior middleweight Rashidi Ellis won a one-sided decision over Marco Antonio Lopez over eight rounds. Lopez (25-9, 16 KOs) was game and hung in the pocket, but Ellis was too quick and landed the more-telling blows throughout the fight. All three judges scored the bout 80-72 in favor of Ellis, who improves to 15-0, 11 KOs.
