In the last few years, Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has beaten a variety of British boxers.

At the moment, Canelo has toppled Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes, Amir Khan, Liam Smith, Rocky Fielding and last December he dominated Callum Smith.

On May 8th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas - Canelo will face another British fighter when he collides with unbeaten Billy Joe Saunders in a WBO, WBC, WBA super middleweight unification.

Canelo would consider the idea of traveling over to the UK for a major fight at Wembley Stadium.

“I will love to fight in England,” Canelo said to PA Sport. “For me it’s a dream going to England and fighting in front of a lot of people from England. I have a lot of fans from there and I will love to be there.”

The contest with Saunders will be Canelo's third bout in the last five months - after beating Smith in December and blasting out mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim in February.

Canelo has now won 14 fights in a row since suffering his only career defeat, at the hands of Floyd Mayweather in September 2013.

“I understand that mentality is the most important thing, mindset. I understood also that a defeat is not derailing from my main goal, which is to become the best fighter in the world," Canelo said.

“Sometimes we think we are ready to do certain things when we are not. That applies professionally in other areas of life and it happened, but my mind is set on becoming the best fighter in the world. That’s still there. There will also always be something that motivates me. Right now I do want to win all of the titles, but after that there will always be some motivation.

“I love boxing. I love what I do. I always set short-term goals in my mind and for now I am fully focused on this one.”
