Campbell Hatton needed just one left hook to the body to abruptly end his fight on the Anthony Joshua-Jermaine Franklin undercard Saturday night.

Hatton’s body blow sent Louis Fielding to one knee with 1:42 to go in the first round of their eight-round junior welterweight bout at O2 Arena in London. Fielding eventually went to the seat of his trunks, but the temporary effects of that body shot prevented him from getting up in time to beat the count.

Referee Kieran McCann halted the action at 1:29 of the first round.

The 22-year-old Hatton, a son of British legend Ricky Hatton, improved to 11-0 and produced his fourth knockout.

Hatton fought for the second time in three weeks. In his previous appearance, he beat Germany’s Michael Gonxhe (4-3-1, 0 KOs) by unanimous decision in a six-rounder March 11 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

Fielding (10-8, 1 KO), a journeyman from Tamworth, England, lost by knockout or technical knockout for the fifth time in nine years as a pro.
