Chantelle Cameron has appointed Grant Smith as her new trainer after her split from Jamie Moore

Moore spoke of their parting of ways at Monday’s press conference for the fight between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall. Cameron had recruited him in 2019 following her split from Shane McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions.

“A new chapter with Grant Smith,” the 32-year-old Cameron then wrote on social media. “I want to express my gratitude to Jamie and Nigel [Travis, Moore’s assistant] for the brilliant run we had together.

“I love them both to pieces and will always be grateful for everything they have done for me.”

Smith guided Sunny Edwards to the IBF flyweight title and has overseen improvement in Commonwealth super-lightweight champion Dalton Smith, Junaid Bostan, and Nico Leivars.

Cameron is regardless set to fight Katie Taylor for a third time, on May 25 at Dublin’s 3 Arena.

Moore had contributed to Cameron becoming one of Britain’s most accomplished fighters, and oversaw her WBC super lightweight title success in 2020 over Adriana dos Santos Araujo and her also winning the IBF title against Mary McGee in 2021.

Cameron won the undisputed super-lightweight title against Jessica McCaskill in 2022 before, in Ireland in May 2023, she so impressively inflicted the first defeat of Taylor’s fine career – a result Taylor, 37, avenged in what proved Cameron’s last fight with Moore.
