Last week IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (19-0) held a media workout in Las Vegas for his upcoming title defense against mandatory challenger Vicent Feigenbutz (31-2). The bout takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and will headline a Premier Boxing Champions on FOX card.

The 27-year-old Plant had a big year in 2019.  He started off his 2019 campaign with a dominant decision victory over Jose Uzcategui to capture his IBF crown. Plant got off to a fast start and dropped the hard hitting Uzcategui twice in the first 4 rounds.

He followed that performance up by blowing out a badly overmatched Mike Lee in 3 rounds in a bout that headlined a FOX card before the Manny Pacquiao-Keith Thurman pay-per-view broadcast began on July 20th.

Plant believes he will perform better than he did in both of those fights.

"We have had some really good sparring, Ronald Ellis, who is the brother of Rashidi Ellis, they also got a sister who is in the Olympics.  We have a couple guys from Norway who are strong, coming forward, throwing punches, pushing me and making me work. I am boxing super sharp right now. This is probably the sharpest I have ever been. Sharper than the Jose fight. Sharper than the Lee fight," Plant told BoxingScene.com.

The fight will be a homecoming bout for the Tennessee native.  A lot of distractions can come with fighting at home but Plant isn't the least bit concerned and is confident that he will be able to maintain his focus.

"This is something that we pushed for. It is something that I really wanted.  Now that I have it - it is not something that I want to focus on. I am focused on the fight and the task at hand. I am not really concerned.  I know there will be a lot of people trying to pull me in different directions but I am not going to let that happen. I am focused on the task at hand," said Plant.

Bryant Perrella (17-2) will take on Abel Ramos (25-3-2) in  the co-feature bout. Local fighter Austin Dulay (13-1) will face veteran Diego "2 Fuego" Magdaleno (31-3) in the televised opener.
