Panamanian Celestino 'Pelenchín' Caballero, the featherweight champion of World Boxing Association (WBA), is planning to move forward with his mandatory defense against Mickey Garcia on July 28th at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

In an earlier interview, Caballero was pushing to have the fight in either Panama or Las Vegas. Sampson Boxing, who won the purse bid, are taking the fight to Indio with Telefutura covering the television boardcast.

According to the rules of the WBA, Caballero could lose his title if he doesn't move forward, and Garcia could lose his ranking if he walks away from the fight. Caballero has yet to sign, but he continues to train and plans to fight.

"I have not signed any contract yet. I'm just continuing to get ready in Las Vegas. But I'll fight," said Caballero.

Caballero has a record of 36 wins, 23 of them by KO and four losses, while Garcia has 28 wins, no defeats and 24 KOs.
