Bryan Polaco continues to sharpen his tools in the pro ranks while preparing for the biggest stage of his amateur career.

The four-time Puerto Rico national champion and the island's best shot at medalling in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics improved to 2-0 (2KOs) in the pro ranks following a 1st round knockout of Joshua Sikes.  Two knockdowns produced the fight's end at 1:24 of the opening round of their Telemundo-televised junior middleweight contest Friday evening at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.

Polaco—a 22-year old southpaw from Fajardo, P.R.—made his pro debut on the Telemundo circuit just three weeks ago, needing just 89 seconds to get the job done. Even less time was required this time around as he quickly overwhelmed Sikes, a mixed martial artist (MMA) making his pro debut.

Left hand shots produced both knockdowns, with Polaco flooring Sikes barely a minute into the fight. Sikes beat the count, only for a follow-up straight left to send him down and nearly out the right. Referee Telis Assimenios didn't bother with a count in immediately waving off the contest.

Polaco has opted to remain active as a pro in lieu of the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. All Star Boxing—who signed the gifted southpaw to a pro contract earlier this summer—has plans to bring him back for the Boxeo Telemundo fall season premiere and potentially the 2020 season finale as well.

Also on the show, Los Angeles' Anthony Olascuaga (1-0, 1KO) enjoyed a successful pro debut with a 2nd round knockout of Nashville's Edwin Reyes in their flyweight bout. Olascuaga—who is trained by renowned cornerman Rudy Hernandez—floored Reyes with a left hook in round two. Reyes beat the count, but was left defenseless in the ensuing volley which prompted referee Telis Assimenios to intervene.

Both bouts aired on the undercard of Antonio Moran's 6th round knockout of Luis Solis as part of the Telemundo summer season finale.
