IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) is still looking for some payback.

He would love to get back in the ring with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs). Last September at the O2 Arena in London, Brook moved up by two weight divisions to challenge Golovkin for his titles.

Brook did well in the fight, but suffered a fractured orbital bone and the contest was stopped by the fifth round when the Sheffield fighter was experiencing issues with his vision.

Brook has maintained that Golovkin was slowing down by the fight round and felt the contest was there for the taking when his corner threw in the towel.

Brook would like to have two fights above the welterweight limit and then he would feel more than ready to get Golovkin right back in the ring.

"Absolutely I would. I would love to get back in there with him. I would probably like to fight the weight above welterweight and maybe two fights, and then fight him. Instead of the big step up in class and higher weight division. But I would love one day to get back in there with 'GGG' and have another tear up with him," Brook said to Sky Sports.

Golovkin returns in September in what is surely the biggest fight of the year when he defends his belts against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Brook has now gone through the tough process of getting back down in weight to 147, as he makes a mandatory defense against undefeated Olympian Errol Spence next Saturday night in Sheffield.

"It's been very, very tough because I moved to middleweight and then I had time off, so my weight went even higher. It's been gradual but we have got there. Every day is tough and we take one day at a time, but I'm sat here now and I'm on target. I'm hitting my targets, so I'm happy," Brook said.
