Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya made headlines when he recently said that he was looking at Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, and Adrien Broner as potential opponents for Ryan Garcia in early 2024.

In order for any of those potential fights to occur, Garcia must take care of business on December 2 when he faces Oscar Duarte at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event will be streamed by DAZN.

Broner’s trainer Kevin Cunningham said that they are interested in the fight but have not received an offer from Garcia’s promoter Golden Boy Promotions.  He also isn’t impressed with Garcia’s next opponent.

“We’ve never ever received a formal offer from Golden Boy to fight Ryan Garcia. But if they’re serious about making the fight at 140 pounds, let’s make it happen, Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.

“If Ryan’s successful with whoever this guy is on December 2nd, AB is preparing right now to give Ryan the ass whooping he’s looking for next. My young prodigy De Von Williams is perfect sparring for AB to prepare for Ryan. As a matter of fact I think he beats Ryan too. Let’s stop the capping Golden Boy and send a proposal and it’s on.”

Broner last fought in June when he defeated Bill Hutchinson after nearly a 2.5 year layoff.

Cunningham reiterated that they want the fight and don’t just want Bronner’s name thrown around if they’re not serious about making it happen.

“Don’t use AB’s name to promote Ryan’s next fight,” said Cunningham.
