The storyline going into Adrien Broner’s fight with Ashley Theophane suddenly changed barely a week before the bout, when it was revealted that there was a warrant out for his arrest in Cincinnati on accusations that he had assaulted and robbed a man after a night of betting on bowling.

He had that hanging over him and reporters asking him about it. He nevertheless went on to beat Theophane as expected, scoring a ninth-round technical knockout over his overmatched opponent.

“At the end of the day, I stayed focused. I knew I had everything to lose and he had everything to gain,” Broner told reporters afterward.

It’s been reported that Broner will turn himself in early next week. If he’s concerned about it, then he’s not revealing it to the media.

“What Jay-Z say? We beat cases like Rocky. We OK,” Broner said.
