Perth, Australia. Two days before throwing punches in the bout for the International Boxing Organization lightweight title, both Daud Yordan of Indonesia and Daniel Eduardo Brizuela of Argentina were warming up in a heated press conference in Perth.

Brizuela refused to reveal his strategy for Saturday’s fight, saying “It’s confidential.”

In response, Daud’s co-trainer Craig Christian said that Brizuela is expected to dart around the ring to avoid a close fight with Daud.

“You will fight or run around the ring like a chicken,” Christian said.

But, Brizuela was quick to rebut his opponents.

“I’m the one who will make Daud sleep like a chicken,” the Argentinian said.

After reviewing Brizuela’s previous fights, Christian and Damianus Yordan, Daud’s brother and trainer, recognized the Argentinian boxer’s pattern of avoiding close fights with his opponents.

Damianus added that he is confident Daud will knock out his opponent in round eight.

Daud is not the only Indonesian boxer who will fight on Saturday night. Rasmanudin, the current super bantamweight national champion, will fight Australian national champion Jason Cooper for the vacant IBO super bantamweight title as an undercard.

National champion Rasmanudin has a record of 17 wins (9 KOs), three losses and two draws. The fight in Perth will be his fourth international bout. He took the national title by defeating Adi Wiguna by points in Sragen, Central Java, earlier this year. Previously, the 26-year-old boxer has twice fought in Japan and the Philippines, losing in all bouts.

Rasmanudin’s 21-year-old opponent Cooper has won the national title after defeating Roberto Lerio in November 2012 in Queensland. New to the boxing circuit, Cooper began his career in 2011 and has fought eight times with six wins (three KOs), one loss and one draw.

Another undercard for the bout is Peter Mitrevski Jr. of Australia, who will battle fellow Aussie Luke Sharp for the vacant IBO Asia-Pacific middleweight title.
