Argentinean WBA super welterweight interim-champion Brian Castano (15-0, 11 KOs) has once again shown his talent in a dominating performance.

The boxer has now been elevated to the status of WBA "regular" champion at 154-pounds, as he traveled to France to dominate former EBU titleholder Cedric Vitu (46-3, 19 KOs) on route to a twelfth round stoppage win at La Seine Musicale in Paris, France.

Castano controlled the action from start to finish, and then closed the show in the twelfth and final round after dropping Vitu. Once Vitu beat the count, Castano jumped on him with a big barrage of hard punches to force the referee to jump in and wave off the contest.

Also on the card, Ringstar Sports prospect Money Powell, IV (6-0, 3 KOs) picked up a unanimous decision win over Gadzhimurad Ibragimov (2-3-1) in a super middleweight bout.

Back in July, Castano got his biggest win to date when he defeated Michel Soro in Evian, France. Castano is arguably the most gifted Argentine boxer to come along in a few years. Prior to turning pro in 2012 he was highly regarded as an amateur.

During his amateur career that yielded nearly 180 wins, he beat 2012 Olympic Silver medalist Esquiva Falcao, U.S. Olympian (and current IBF welterweight titleholder) Errol Spence Jr. and current middleweight standout Sergey Derevyanchenko.

As far as Vitu, this is a big setback for his career.

He held the EBU light middleweight title between 2015 and 2017, with three successful title defenses. Vitu first challenged for the EBU title in 2012 and lost a split decision to then undefeated Sergey Rabchenko in Manchester on the undercard of Ricky Hatton's comeback bout against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

Vitu made good in the second EBU title crack in June 2015, when he stopped Orlando Fiordigiglio in Brescia. In May, he fought in an IBF title eliminator against Marcello Matano and picked up a TKO win to becoming the mandatory challenger to IBF champion Jarrett Hurd. Following his win, Vitu vacated the EBU title and for whatever reason took a pass on facing Hurd and instead went after the WBA "regular" title against Castano.

Hurd will faces IBO/WBA "super" junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara in a unification on April 7th in Las Vegas.
