BILD writes that former WBA, EBU and WBO light heavyweight champ Juergen Braehmer, 40-3, is in full training in Schwerin for a possible showdown against EBU super middle titleholder Robin Krasniqi - a man Braehmer beat when they were both light heavies.

Braehmer expects the fight to go ahead at the end of this year but Krasniqi is lined up to make a voluntary defence of the title October 27 so how that turns out is an open question.

Braehmer was last seen defeating Rob Brant in the WBSS Tournament in October 2017. Braehmer is still also training former WBA super middle ruler Tyron Zeuge, who lost the title in July to Rocky Fielding. Zeuge also expects to be back later this year.

Both Braehmer and Zeuge are now freelancers and no longer promoted by Sauerland Event.

Norwegian cruiser and promoter Kevin Melhus, 5-0, headlines his own show October 20 in Skien and takes on Swede Marcus Alberts, 6-3, in an interesting looking six-rounder.

Alberts have two losses in his last three fights but have fought at a higher level than Melhus.

German welter prospect Abass Barou, 2-0, will defend the national (BDB version that is) title on October 6 in Wolfsburg against Robert Maess, 22-1. The former amateur star is promoted by Sauerland Event and trained by Ulli Wegner.

19-year old Danish prospect Oliver Meng, 2-0, is now moving up to super welterweight and takes on Latvian Valentins Kotosovs, 2-1, September 15 in Copenhagen on a Danish Fight Night promotion. Off the bill are heavyweight Pierre Madsen and feather Ali Mohamed as both are sidelined with injuries.

Undefeated Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakici (13-0, 11 KOs) is set to face Gabriel Enguema (8-6, 5 KOs) on the undercard of Filip Hrgovi?’s WBC International title clash with Amir Mansour on September 8 at the Arena Zagreb.

In what promising to be a huge night for Croatian boxing, Smakici, the 28 year-old from Zagreb, returns to action following his first-round knockout win over Giorgi Tamazashvili at the Gardehov Ice Arena in Sundsvall, Sweden.
