Pick It: TBRB #3 Mark Magsayo vs. #5 Brandon Figueroa (Saturday, Showtime, 9:00 PM EST)

A clash of former titlists gets center stage this weekend in a featherweight division without a clear centerpiece. The 27-year old Magsayo won and lost the WBC featherweight belt in his last two fights, battling with two of the best featherweights in the world in Gary Russell Jr. and Rey Vargas respectively.

Now Magsayo will try to rebound from the Vargas loss against the relentless 26-year old former Jr. featherweight titlist Brandon Figueroa (23-1-1, 18 KO). It has the makings of yet another excellent action fight in a year full of them. Former unified Jr. middleweight titlist Jarrett Hurd will also be in action as Showtime continues what will be a very active schedule from now until the summer.

Additional Show to Watch For

Saturday - Chance vs. Diaz (Starboxing.TV, 7:30 PM EST)

A promising Jr. featherweight prospect will continue his development steps in Jersey City. 22-year old Rajon Chance (7-0-1, 5 KO) is making his first appearance in an eight-round contest but the results so far say the distance probably won’t be an issue. 27-year old Martin Diaz (18-14-2, 8 KO) enters with three straight losses and has been stopped three times in a career dating to 2014.

Saturday - Fierro vs. Estela (DAZN, 8:00 PM EST)

Aspiring lightweight hopefuls get a main event to show their wares. 24-year old Angel Fierro (20-1-2, 16 KO) is 3-0-1 with three knockouts since suffering his lone loss by majority decision over eight rounds. Across the ring, 33-year old Eduardo Estela (14-1, 9 KO) will try to make it five wins in a row since a stoppage loss to current featherweight titlist Mauricio Lara.
