Pick It: Shabaz Masoud vs. Jose Sanmartin (Saturday, DAZN, 2:00 PM EST)

27-year old junior featherweight Shabaz Masoud (11-0, 4 KO) is rising quickly in the division. With less than a dozen fights, he is already ranked sixth by the WBA.

Rankings can vanish as quickly as they accumulate and a seasoned veteran could provide some tests. 31-year old Jose Sanmartin (34-7-1, 21 KO) has lost two of his last three but he’s been in with some solid foes, including former featherweight titlist Mauricio Lara and current junior lightweight titlist Emanuel Navarette. Will that experience matter against Masoud?

Additional Shows to Watch For

Friday - Eubank vs. Schwarzkopf (DAZN, 2:30 PM EST)

The Eubank family tree in British boxing has another branch. The nephew of former WBO middleweight and super middleweight titlist Chris Eubank will be in junior welterweight action in this main event. 29-year old Harlem Eubank (18-0, 7 KO) hasn’t cracked any sanctioning body rankings yet but given his name and winning ways it’s likely he’ll find chances. The 32-year old Schwarzkopf (22-5, 13 KO) has won two in a row and never been stopped.

Friday - Conto vs. Webster (BXNB TV, 7:30 PM EST)

Heavyweights capture the marquee in this main event. 27-year old Philly product Sonny Conto (11-0, 9 KO) doesn’t work by the hour. 35-year old Detralious Webster (6-1, 2 KO) has never been stopped but both men are still early in their paid tenure.

Saturday - Toney vs. Ruddock (FITE TV, 8:00 PM EST)

Old guys doing exhibitions used to be common and it has become common again. Both fighters are closer to sixty than even fifty so don’t expect much but for anyone who wants to see James Toney and Razor Ruddock do some glorified sparring, here’s your shot.
