The good news for those involved in the Boxeo Telemundo series is that the show will go on as planned.

It just won't come with the rotating locations as once hoped.

The fall season of Boxeo Telemundo remains on course to launch October 2, with the premiere along with each Friday thereafter—October 9, 16 and 23—to air live behind closed doors from Osceola Heritage Park (OHP) in Kissimmee, Florida. The venue served as the exclusive host for the four-week summer season which ran from August 14-September 4, and will remain as the on-site bubble for the final four shows of 2020.

“We went into the summer season with a firm plan, although there were still certain areas where we naturally didn’t know what to expect,” Felix ‘Tutico’ Zabala, president and owner of All Star Boxing, Inc. told BoxingScene.com on Tuesday. “Overall, the handling of the events exceeded our expectations and we look forward to improving on what we started heading into our final stretch run of this year.”

As was the case in the summertime, all four shows will air live on Telemundo beginning at 12:00 a.m. ET—a change from the series’ longtime traditional 11:35 p.m. ET start time.

Original—though tentative—plans called for the fall season premiere to take place in Niagara Falls, which played host to its first Boxeo Telemundo show one year ago to a sold-out crowd. The return to upstate New York mirrored the energy that went into the 2020 premiere, with the series taking place in Miami—where Telemundo is headquartered—for the first time in nearly a decade.

Of course, that vision came about at a time when fans were permitted in attendance.

The ongoing coronavirus has ruined that experience for the time being, wiping out four additional dates that were allotted to All Star Boxing for this past May.

Instead, came countless meetings to devise a firm plan of action to proceed with a quality summertime product under the safest circumstances. It led to setting up shop at OHP, a Boxeo Telemundo series favorite—replacing the Kissimmee Civic Center in that regard—which has since been transformed to fight week headquarters for scheduled boxers and deemed essential personnel.

“Again, it was a very different experience but necessary in order to proceed with the series,” notes Zabala.

All four summer shows went off without a hitch, even providing a couple of upsets along the way. Included among the spoilers was Guadalajara’s Dennis Contreras (22-10-1, 20KOs), who scored a thrilling 5th round knockout of fringe contender Belmar Preciado in the August 28 main event which easily served as the best fight of the Boxeo Telemundo summer season.

Contreras is among the returning boxers for the fall season, with his opponent and exact fight date to come at a later time.

Mexico City’s Antonio ‘Tono’ Moran (25-4-1, 18KOs)—a longtime series favorite—concluded the summer season with a 6th round knockout of Luis Solis earlier this month. He is also among the list of returning participants, along with junior featherweight Ricardo ‘Hindu’ Espinoza, who dealt Colombia’s Brandon Valdes his first career defeat via 10-round decision atop the August 14 summer season premiere.

Junior welterweight knockout artist Emanuel ‘Pinky’ Colon (17-1-1, 16KOs) will also be featured in the fall season, marking his first fight of 2020. The 28-year old Boricua is now based out of Buffalo, New York, his popularity in the region prominently featured in his win over Richard Zamora on the aforementioned Telemundo show in Niagara Falls last October.
