In only his third professional fight, Kevin Brown (3-0) went 10 full rounds against a game Julian Smith (6-2) on Friday night. The final scores were 98-92 and 96-94 twice.

The fight took place at the Caribe Royal in Orlando, Florida and was presented by BoxLab Promotions and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. The bout served as the co-feature underneath the Ashton Sylve-Adam Kipenga main event which Sylve won by unanimous decision. The four fight card was streamed by DAZN.

Brown, who is trained by world class trainer Bob Santos in Las Vegas, was able to control most of the fight with his superior foot movement and jab after getting hit with a big shot in the opening stanza.

According to Santos, Brown will be fast tracked to a world title shot.

“With his amateur background, Brown will in a world title fight sooner than later,” Santos told BoxingScene.com. “This was exactly the type of fight he needed. Smith was a tough cookie who tested Kevin but in the end his superior skill set led him to the victory. You will see him back in the ring in the very near future.”

The 29-year-old Brown was very successful in the highly regarded Cuban amateur boxing program. He owns amateur victories over countrymen and two-time Olympic gold medalists Andy Cruz and Roniel Iglesias.

“The sky is the limit for Kevin. We are taking it fight by fight with him but we fully expect him to be in position to fight for a world title by turns of next year,” said Santos.

Brown has sparred with the likes Alberto Puello, Hector Luis García and Mario Barrios, among others, in Santos’ Las Vegas based gym.
