One of the most highly anticipated fights on the boxing calendar takes places on July 25th when Stephen Fulton (21-0) defends his WBC and WBO super bantamweight titles against Naoya Inoue (24-0) at the Ariake Arena in Koto-Ku.

In the co-feature bout, WBO featherweight champion Robeisy Ramírez will defend his titles against Satoshi Shimizu.

Both bouts will be streamed live on ESPN+ in the United States.

BetMGM has Inoue listed as a -350 favorite but many observers give Fulton - who is the natural 122 pounder - a great shot to pull off the upset on the road.

Inoue, who is attempting to win a world title in a 4th weight class, began his career in the light flyweight division and became the undisputed champion in the bantamweight division in December when he knocked out Paul Butler in the 11th rounds.

World class trainer Bob Santos is one of those in the industry who believes Fulton will do enough to secure  the victory.

“Listen, Fulton is a great boxer who is a lot stronger than people think. He has the advantages in both size and boxing ability,” Santos told BoxingScene.com.

“This is going to be a great fight and both fighters will have their moments but I expect Fulton to outbox Inoue and surprise a lot people in the process. I think he will win a clear decision.”

Santos’ stable of fighters includes Carlos Adames, Hector Luis Garcia, Alberto Puello, Lenier Pero and several others.
