Earlier this week, BoxingScene.com’s Jake Donovan confirmed the news that the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury Showtime pay-per/view bout scheduled to take place on August 6th has officially been put on hold.

The United Kingdom’s Fury posted a video to his various social media channels on Tuesday to verify rumors that he was turned away at London’s Heathrow Airport due to his ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authority) document being denied, preventing him from traveling to the U.S.

His video ended with him saying, “I can stand here and say I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong and I have no clue why I’m not allowed to travel to the USA. I’ve been training for a fight this whole time and that’s all I’ve been doing.”

The fight was previously in jeopardy when Tommy’s brother, WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was denied entry into the United States.

Sanctions imposed on accused Irish crime lord Daniel Kinahan by the U.S. Treasury Department have resulted in 600 individuals being put on a no fly list. Such sanctions are reported—but not yet publicly confirmed—to have affected the travel plans of Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs), Tommy’s older brother and the reigning Lineal/WBC heavyweight champion who was similarly turned away earlier in the month when attempting to travel to Miami.  Tommy’s denial appears unrelated as he was allowed to travel to California in May.

John Fury, Tommy’s father and head trainer, has been banned from entering the United States for several years due to a previous conviction.

Paul and his camp have been skeptical the whole time and believe that the unbeaten fighter simply has gotten cold feet and is scared of taking a loss to the popular YouTuber/Influencer.

“Tommy backed out last week again, then the fight was back on a couple days later. Now Tommy can’t get in the country because of what his brother did? Yeah right. He just doesn’t want to get KO’d on August 6th, period,” Paul’s trainer BJ Flores told BoxingScene.com.
