WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol was way too good for Lenin Castillo, as he dominated his way to a twelve round unanimous decision before a crowd of 9,073 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

The official judges saw it 120-107 and 119-108 twice. Bivol improved to 17-0 while Castillo dropped to 20-3-1.

Bivol outboxed Castillo in every single round, and scored a knockdown in the sixth - when he clipped Castillo on the chin with a counter hook.

There were a lot of fans who were unhappy with the fight, as boos showered down when the contest as over.

The overall action was lacking, with Bivol dominating with his boxing.

“First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who supports me and watched the fight. Maybe there are people who say, ‘You are a boring fighter,’ or something like this. But I try to win and I won. Who wants to fight me? Who wants to try to beat me?," Bivol said.

“I saw his fights before. He is really good at counter attacking. All five rounds before that, I tried to land that punch [that knocked him down]. If I lost today it would be bad but I won and I kept my belt. It gets me closer to my dream which is to fight for another belt."

And what's next? Bivol wants a unification bout. He wants the winner of this coming Saturday's WBC, IBF unification between Artur Beterbiev and Oleksandr Gvozdyk or the winner of the upcoming WBO title fight, between Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev, which takes place on November 2.

"I want fight the winner of Gvozdyk-Beterbiev or Canelo-Kovalev. I can fight them now because I won today. Why can’t I get the winner of Gvozdyk-Beterbiev? We are in the same division," Bivol said.
