Club Punchbowl in Sydney - In what is arguably the biggest victory of his growing career, super middleweight Bilal Akkawy (17-0-1, 14 KOs) made a good enough statement for a bump in the world rankings with a ten round unanimous decision over former WBA "regular" champion Giovanni De Carolis (25-9-1, 13 KOs).

The scores were 99-90, 99-90, 100-89 The victory gives Akkawy the WBA Oceania title.

De Carolis has now lost three of his last four bouts and at 33 years old the Italian veteran may have to rethink his career.

IN OTHER RESULTS: St Kilda Town Hall in Melbourne, Victoria - In a clash for the OPBF and WBA Oceana titles, top rated super flyweight Andrew Moloney (16-0, 10 KOs) won a dominating twelve round unanimous decision over another rated boxer, Rene Dacquil (20-7-1, 6 KOs).

The scores were 117-111, 118-111 ad 119-109.

And, top rated bantamweight Jason Moloney (16-0, 13 KOs) retained the Commonwealth title with a third round stoppage of Immanuel Naidjala (23-4-1, 13 KOs).

MORE RESULTS: North Carolina amateur boxing sensation Michael Williams Jr expected and was asked to provide a lot in his pro debut.  From his entrance into the ring to his work inside the ropes, the eighteen-year-old boy wonder, with the ease of a future world champion, delivered 150% as promised in his pro debut with a third round TKO of a very tough and game Raquan Best 0-2.

Williams Jr 1-0 (1 KO) entered the ring in fantastic style electrifying a capacity crowd at the Centerstage NODA arena in Charlotte, NC.  From the opening bell, the 6'1" super lightweight showed next level skills using a battering ram jab to open the guard of Best.  After quickly establishing the jab, Williams Jr unleashed a number of right hands which forced Best to fall back into the ropes.  Williams Jr stayed on top of his opponent delivering calculated hard shots to both the head and body.  Best was a beast and showed an incredible chin by eating many of the shots and surviving the first round.
