Super Middleweight: David Benavidez made a big time statement on Saturday, dominating and stopping veteran Rogelio Medina just one year after Medina gave James DeGale everything he could handle. Benavidez, only 20, showed power, speed, and technique. Andre Dirrell was down on the cards when a foul ended his night. He won, but he didn’t beat Jose Uzcategui and can’t really move up on the performance.

Middleweight: When the head of a sanctioning body comes out and apologizes to the loser of a fight and immediately orders a rematch, one can feel safe the judges got it wrong. That’s what happened in the Ryoto Murata loss to Hasan N’Dam N’Jikam and Murata enters the top ten above N’Jikam. Immanuwel Aleem exits the top ten.

Jr. Welterweight: Rances Barthelemy enters the top ten but there was some debate about the winner of his physical battle with Kiryl Relikh. While this corner agreed with the decision, the scores gap might have been a bit wide. Interesting: Ricky Burns beat Relikh more convincingly. Barthelemy enters just behind Burns. Anthony Ygit exits the top ten.

Jr. Lightweight: Gervonta Davis gets a bump after a fantastic road performance against Liam Walsh.

Featherweight: Gary Russell, still the division leader, sends Oscar Escandon out of the top ten. Entering is Josh Warrington.

Flyweight: Juan Hernandez lost his 112 lb. title on the scales; then he got stopped in the ring. 21-year old Daigo Higa grabs the vacant WBC belt and the young man has a high ceiling. Hernandez drops a few spots.

Jr. Flyweight: This division had all sorts of wild going on this week. Kosei Tanaka dominated tough mandatory Angel Acosta and moves to the top spot amidst the chaos. Ken Shiro enters the top ten with an upset of previous leader Ganigan Lopez. Milan Melindo, who looked like he was on the way down not long ago, came up with a career best night, dropping veteran Akira Yaegashi three times in the first to draw the stoppage. Melindo makes a big jump in the ratings with his fourth straight win.
