Quebec City, Quebec, Canada - Artur Beterbiev scored his most impressive win to date, steamrolling former light heavyweight titlist Gabriel Campillo in the 4th round of their CBS-televised chief support at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City.  

Beterbiev (8-0, 8KOs) dropped Campillo in the first minute of the fight, rocking the Spaniard with a right hand before realizing how badly his opponent was hurt. A follow-up left hook put the southpaw down for the first knockdown of the night. 

The worst appeared to be over for the fallen ex-titlist, who made it out of the opening round and boxed fairly well in round two. Still, he looked every bit his 36 years of age anytime Beterbiev landed upstairs or with conviction to the body. That pain was evident late in round three, when Campillo was once again badly hurt. 

Beterbiev closed the show in highlight reel fashion early in round four. A right hand and left hook rendered Campillo unfit to continue, with Beterbiev calmly walking away from the scene of a crime as his opponent's body hit the canvas. Referee Marlon B. Wright decided it was enough, with the stoppage coming at 0:37 of round four.

Even as he continues to escalate his competition, Beterbiev has yet to be extended beyond the fourth round of a given prize fight since turning pro in 2013. The win is his second over a former tltist, both coming within his past three fights. The other occasion came last September, forcing Tavoris Cloud to quit in two rounds. 

Campillo has upset the apple cart before, but this appears to be the end of the line. The end came in equally frightening fashion to that of his 2nd round knockout loss to Sergei Kovalev just over two years ago. A three fight win streak followed, including an upset knockout win over unbeaten prospect Thomas Williams Jr. last August. 

The aforementioned upset appears to have been his last hurrah, as he wasn't remotely competitive on Saturday. The loss sends his record to 25-7-1 (12KOs), including 6-5-1 in his 12 starts dating back to his title reign coming to an end in Jan. '10. To his credit, Campillo has been the victim of several controversial decisions, including his title fight rematch loss to Beibut Shumenov, as well as a draw with Karo Murat and loss to Cloud.

There was nothing controversial about this loss, as Beterbiev continues to look like a light heavyweight with whom the rest of his divisional peers - Kovalev and World champ Adonis Stevenson (who fights Sakio Bika in today's main event) - need to be concerned.

UNDERCARD

Junior middleweight contender Julian Williams (19-0-1, 11KOs) won a lopsided ten round unanimous decision over veteran Joey Hernandez. All three judges had it 100-89 across the board. Hernandez was down from a hard hook.

Sebastian Bouchard (11-1, 3KOs) continues his win streak, getting a six round unanimous decision over Denis Farias (19-7) in a junior middleweight bout.
