Former two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto have his comments on the recent drug testing scandal involving his last opponent, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Berto lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Mayweather on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight was billed as Mayweather's final bout as a pro.

A few days earlier, on the morning of the final press conference, well-known scribe Thomas Hauser broke a story which detailed Mayweather's use of an IV - following the official weighin to his May mega-bout with Manny Pacquiao - to inject himself with vitamins, fluids and minerals.

The controversy revolved around the fact that athletes use such methods to mask the use of performance enhancing drugs. Mayweather's camp is claiming he was tested prior to and after the IV was used. The Nevada State Athletic Commission and the testing agency, USADA, have sided with Mayweather on the issue.

During a recent radio appearance, Berto was asked for his opinion on the controversy, and he appeared to give hints that there might be something to the allegations.

"At the time I was just focused on the fight. At the time I was hearing a lot about this and that. I think it's something that he has to deal with. I think a lot of people already had different ideas about different things. I mean he's 38-years-old. You don't see too many 38-years-olds or even 35-year-old guys - as sharp as he is at that age, in tremendous shape like he is at that age," Berto told Power 105.

But when one of the hosts asked him - "so you're saying it's something more than just hard work and dedication" - Berto seemed to get a little uncomfortable with the questioning and stepped away from the perception that he was implying that there might be some wrongdoing.

"I'm not saying none of that. I'm saying that's his business and if they find this or found that....I don't know....I ain't got nothing to do with it," Berto said.
