Norwegian featherweight Bernard Torres (18-1) headlined Norway Box Promotion's show at the Chateau Neuf on June 9 and scored an important win as he outscored Tanzanian veteran Nasibu Ramadhani (33-18-2) over ten.

Torres is ranked # 7 by the EBU but most of the fighters above him are occupied with other plans which means that a shot at the title now held by Italian Mauro Forte is close.

On the undercard cruiserweight Kevin Melhus (9-0) stopped Bosnian Ermin Avdic (13-12-1) in the third of a scheduled six-rounder. Melhus has his sights set on his compatriot Kai Robin Havnaa (18-0) who is still nursing the thumb he broke on NBP's last event.

IN OTHER NEWS: Sanman’s undefeated top super flyweight sensation Jade Bornea (W18 KO12 L0) is ready to rumble against defending IBF super flyweight world champion Fernando Martinez (W15 KO8 L0).

The fight will take place in Minnesota on June 24, and Showtime will televise. Martinez grabbed the belt from champion Jerwin Ancajas, which he has beaten twice via unanimous decision.

Asked if he is bothered by being the heavy underdog weeks before the fight, Bornea said it motivates him even more.

“A world title is every boxer’s lifetime dream. It has always been my dream. I will give it my all to win this fight. It’s a make or break fight for me. Martinez is very tough having beaten my friend and countryman Jerwin Ancajas but styles makes fights. I have trained very hard with coach Ernel Fontanilla. I spent almost all my time in a day inside the gym. I hope my hard work will payoff come fight night. I want to thank my Sanman team and Sean Gibbons for making this possible," Bornea stated.

Bornea’s manager, Jim Claude Manangquil, also expressed confidence in his ward.

“Jade has been preparing all his life for this. Now that the chance is here, I am sure he will grab it with everything he’s got. He is a very hardworking boxer," Manangquil said
