Ahead of arguably the biggest fight of his career, super middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga made weight for his clash with fellow unbeaten Padraig McCrory.

McCrory was well-supported by a vocal Irish contingent but Berlanga's reception was more raucous, with the New Yorker who represents Puerto Rico, summoned to the stage by MC David Diamante.

The fighters shared a long, stoic staredown, but it stayed respectful.

"It was good, it's very exciting," said McCrory., of the atmosphere at the weigh in. "I started at the bottom, on dinner shows, with little or now money, and now we're here with one of the best super middleweights in the world. We're here now, and we're ready to do a job. Once I win this, it not only changes my career, it changes my life."

"I know he's ready to fight, he's undefeated and ready to defend his 0," countered Berlanga. "I've got a lot to prove and a statement to make. It's game time. I want to go in there, do my thing and everything will fall into place for me."
