World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Miguel Alacian Berchelt (31-1, 28 KOs) knows that former champion and current challenger, Japan's Takashi Miura (31-3-2, 24 KOs), will be a test of fire demanding  ingenuity.

The Mexican will make the first defense of his crown on July 15 at the Forum of Inglewood, California, against the battle hardened number one in the WBC rankings.

"There are several champions in the division... Lomachenko, Gervonta Davis, Jezreel Corrales, but I have to respect my opponent.  First I have to beat Miura and after that they will come by themselves. We are free to listen offers."

Takashi lost the title to Francisco Vargas on November 21, 2015 and Berchelt dethroned the then-champion on January 28. Although he`s considered the  favourite for this one, he knows that anything could, can and tends to happen in the ring.

"We are in the strong stage of my preparation, almost a month from the fight. We are training hard and ticking all of the boxes and we expect to be very physically strong," said Berchelt.

IN OTHER NEWS: Prior to her July 8th fight in Zapopan, Jalisco - when she challenges World Boxing Council  bantamweight champion Mariana "La Barby" Juarez,  Japan`s Terumi Nuki is planning a very special mode of attack strategy.

"Mariana is a great fighter, very popular in Mexico and in many parts of the world.  She`s  a great champion, but one of her worst defeats was against another Japanese fighter, Ryo Togo.  Mariana is strong but not invincible.  With all respect,  I am training very hard to bring the title to Japan, as I  will be the new world champion."

The audacious and loquacious Japanese boxer has a brief record of  9 wins, 1 defeat and 6 knockouts.  This will be her first match outside her country and the first time against a rival of the Americas.

She currently holds OPBF super flyweight belt (Asia Pacific), which she obtained just on April 22nd by knocking out Thai fighter Buasawan Wisetchat.
