The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Chelsea Ballroom, Las Vegas, Nevada - WBA 'regular' cruiserweight champion Beibut Shumenov (17-2, 11KOs) had to get off the deck to retain his title and stopped Junior Wright (15-2-1, 12KOs) in the tenth round.

Shumenov controlled the contest with his very unorthodox styles, but went down in round five after getting clipped by a hard left. Shumenov got up, was visibly shaken but still managed to survive the round.

It didn't take too long for Shumenov to regain control fo the contest, and paid Wright back by scoring two knockdowns of his own in the eight. When Wright went down the second time, he seemed like a fighter who was mentally checking out but then started swinging once the fight resumed.

Shumenov wore Wright down and then sent him down again in the tenth. Wright's corner threw in the towel and the referee stopped it simultaneously.

BJ Flores (33-2-1, 20KOs), fighting as a heavyweight, won a six round unanimous decision over Roberto Santos (12-4, 5KOs). All three judges saw it 60-54.

Super middleweight Lanell Bellows (16-1-1, 9KOs) stopped Scott Sigmon after one round. Bellows came out firing big shots and caused a cut above the left eye of Sigmon. The ringside doctor would now allow him to come out for the second round.

An upset started off the card, when Carlos Rodriguez (20-18-4, 12KOs) pulled off a one-punch knockout of previously undefeated super lightweight prospect Trakwon Pettis (3-1, 1KO) in the second round.
