Friday, March 30,2007: Doors open at 6am...first bout approx. 7:30pm

All Star Boxing returns to the Quiet Cannon on March 30th with a big show featuring FOUR scheduled 8 round bouts.  Season one "Contender" cast member Miguel Espino (13-2) meets Dhafir Smith (16-15-5).  Espino hopes to return to the limelight later this year with a big fight but will have to get past the durable Smith, who is coming off a draw against a 13-3 Omar Pittman.  This bout will be in the super middleweight division.

Sven Paris (22-1) makes his US debut against the one punch KO power of Calvin Odom (15-8) in a jr middleweight bout.  Paris represented his native Italy in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sidney, Australia and is a former Italian welterweight champion.  Local fighter Odom's last 3 victories have come against opponents whose records were 13-3, 17-0, and 13-0 with two of those being KO wins.

The vacant California State Title is up for grabs when Aaron Martinez (6-0) meets Walter Diaz (4-1-2).  The two local fighters met at the last All Star Boxing show in which Martinez gave Diaz his first loss via TKO.

Fernando Zuniga (24-8) is scheduled to meet Marcus Pernell (12-3) in a super middleweight bout although the contracted weight is still yet to be decided.

As if 32 rounds of boxing is not enough, two 4 rounders are also scheduled as two local female fighters make their pro debuts.  Jennifer Barber will meet Alex Kumbala in a lightweight bout.  Aaron Robinson (4-2-1) will fight in a jr. middleweight bout against an opponent to be named soon.

The Quiet Cannon is located on the grounds of the Montebello Golf Course just off the Garfield/Wilcox exit on the Pomona 60 freeway.  A few corporate ringside boxes are available and general reserved seats are $50.  For more information please respond to this email or call (323) 781-4871.
