BoxingScene.com has been advised that former two-division champion Rances "Kid Blast" Barthelemy (27-1-1) will return to the ring on March 28th in Las Vegas against WBA interim super lightweight champion Alberto Puello (17-0).

The fight will likely land at Park MGM and will headline a Premier Boxing Champions card on Showtime.

Barthelemy, who has held titles at 130 and 135 pounds, saw action once in 2019 when he battled Robert Easter Jr. to a draw in April in a lackluster fight at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas based Cuban has enlisted the services of fellow Cuban Pedro Roque and is holding his training camp at Roque's home base in Miami for this fight. This will be the first fight where Barthelemy will have world class strength and conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Heredia.

Roque is considered one of the best trainers to come out of Cuba and has worked with fighters such as Yuriorkis Gamboa, Yuniel Dorticos and several others.

Puello captured his interim title in July when he outpointed then unbeaten Jonathan Alonso in his native Dominican Republic. The 25-year-old will be taking a massive step up in competition.  All of his 17 professional fights have taken place in his home country.
