Arnold Barboza (26-0) is a few days away from the biggest fight of his career.

On July 15th he faces fellow unbeaten contender Danielito Zorrilla (16-0) in an ESPN main event. The fight takes place at the Pechanga Summit at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.

Both Barboza and Zorilla are ranked in the top 10 by the WBO in the super lightweight division so there will be a lot on the line for both men. Barboza knows that he must shine when he steps in the ring.

“I had a great camp. I am just putting on the finishing touches. I feel it’s a great, competitive fight and for sure my best fight to date,” said Barboza.

The Southern California native is looking forward to fighting in nearby Temecula and expects to have a packed house cheering him on.

“Man, it’s honestly a dream come true ever since I signed with Top Rank. It’s a great opportunity but I can’t get too caught up in all that. We still have a job to do,” Barboza stated.

Former undisputed super lightweight king Josh Taylor has relinquished his WBA and WBC titles and probably won’t be holding onto his WBO and IBF titles for very much longer. He likely will only stay at in the weight class for one more fight before moving up to the welterweight division.

Barboza hopes that a win over Zorilla will lead him directly to a shot at one of those titles but refuses to overlook his opponent.

“We hope a title shot is next but we really don’t care about that right now. We are focused and locked in on the 15th of July,” Barboza told BoxingScene.com.
