It was recently announced that unbeaten super lightweights Arnold Barboza (26-0) and Danielto Zorrilla (16-0) will square off on July 15th in an ESPN televised main event.

The three fight telecast will be rounded out with 2020 U.S. silver medalists Keyshawn Davis and Richard Torrez facing Jair Valtierra and Roberto Zavala Jr. respectively.

Barboza is highly ranked by the WBC and WBO and knows that a win over Zorrilla will put him on the cusp of a title shot.

"I think Zorrilla is tough and strong and he is unbeaten. He’s ranked in the division and its’s going to be a good fight. The fans are going to win at the end of the day,” Barboza told BoxingScene.com.

This will be Barboza’s first fight since his unanimous decision victory over Antonio Moran last August.  If all goes well versus Zorrilla, he plans on being more active in the future.

The Southern California native also expects the Pechanga Resort Casino in nearby Temecula, California - where the fight takes place - to be full of his local supporters.

“I haven’t fought a lot recently but I’ve been in the gym. After this fight I will look to stay active and fight more often. I expect a sold out crowd on fight night,” said Barboza.
