As previously reported, Turkish super middleweight Avni Yildirim will fight against Derek Edwards - and the fight has been sanctioned for the WBC International belt.

Turkish promoter Ahmet Oner will present a packed card in Germany as part of that event, on March 3rd.

Yildirim (17-1-0) is coming back against Edwards (27-7-1) as the first step in attempting to reach a mandatory world title fight by the end of the year.

He is really eager to come back. Yildirim emphasized that he is still young and passionate for the top level and underlined that he learned al lot from last year's knockout loss to Chris Eubank Jr.

Edwards is best known with his shocking stoppage of Badou Jack. Edwards has also fought with champions as Adonis Stevenson, Gilberto Ramirez and notable names like Andre Dirrell and Erik Skoglund.

Yildirim has started work with new trainers Sukru Aksu and McGriff. Aksu is also trainer of EBU Heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel.

Oner stated that Yildirim is very focused on the bout and wants to make a statement.

"I knew that he'd recover as soon as possible. He showed his ambition against Korda. The only goal is to achieve glory for Mr. Robot. People love his performances in Germany," Oner said.

On the same night, super middleweights Sladan Janjanin (23-1-0) and Yusuf Kangul (14-2-1) will fight for the WBC Mediterranean championship. German lightweight Robert Tlatlik (20-1-0) and Marek Jedrzejevski (13-0-0) will fight for the WBC Silver International championship.

Turkish super middleweight prospect Emre Cukur (8-0-0) will face with Bartlomiej Grafka (20-27-3). Grafka’s performance against Robin Krasniqi was really impressive on February 2nd. The bout will server as a good test for Cukur.

Cruiserweight Fatih Zaza, Lightweight Yavuz Erturk, Heavyweight Mohamed Al Zain, and Light heavyweight Serge Michel will also be a part of the card against opponents to finalized in the coming days.
