Austin “No Doubt” Trout (35-5-1) cannot wait to get back in the ring. On December 9th he will face Jose Sanchez Charles (20-2-1) in Hidalgo, Texas.

Assuming he emerges from his upcoming fight injury free, he will make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut soon after.

“I’m excited to fight! I am blessed to finally have some activity. I don’t think I’ve ever had back to back scheduled fights. This is what I need for my run,” Trout told BoxingScene.com.

The recent announcement of his signing with BKFC made many observers believe that the former super welterweight champion’s days in traditional boxing were coming to an end. Trout immediately shut down those rumors.

“Absolutely not.  I’m still trying to get a belt in both sports so I’m in both worlds as long as there are good opportunities on both sides, Trout explained.

The 37-year-old Trout was last in action in July when he outpointed Florin Cardos over 8 rounds. He has won 4 bouts in a row since battling Terrell Gausha to a split draw in 2019.

Trout captured his world title in 2011 when he outpointed Rigoberto Alvarez in Mexico. Two years later he would lose that title to Rigoberto’s little brother Canelo Alvarez.
