One of Thailand’s top super lightweight prospects returns to action this month. Atchariya Wirojanasunobol (10-0) will be making the first defence of his WBC Asia 140lbs title against Filipino challenger Joepher Montano in Bangkok on August 18th.

Atchariya (10-0) won the belt courtesy of a mixed decision win over experienced countryman Kaewfah Tor Buamas in May. He will defend it at the Workpoint TV Studios against Montano (9-2-2) who will be fighting outside of the Philippines for the first time.

Unfortunately injury has forced exciting prospect Saenganan Sithsaithong to withdraw from the card. However the WBC Asia 122lbs title that he was originally scheduled to fight Yuya Nakamura for will still be up for grabs.

Replacing Saenganan is former Muay Thai fighter Chainoi Worawut (2-0). He was a star at Channel 7 Stadium but faces the first real test of his nascent boxing career when he goes up against Nakamura (8-1) with a regional title up for grabs.

The card is being put on by Nakornloung Promotions and will be broadcast in Thailand by Workpoint TV. Reigning WBC super flyweight Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is likely to be ringside as he is currently training for an October title defence against Iran Diaz.
